1 Introduction
Welcome to GPS Map Camera – GeoTag ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data the App accesses and how it is used.
This Privacy Policy describes what information is collected when you use the App, why it is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By using GPS Map Camera – GeoTag, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the App and uninstall it from your device.
2 Information We Collect
The App may access or collect the following categories of information:
📷 Camera Access The App uses your device camera to capture photos and videos. We do not record or stream your camera feed without your active use of the capture feature.
📍 Location / GPS Data
To embed geotag information into your media, the App accesses your device's GPS and location services. This includes latitude, longitude, altitude, and timestamp data at the moment of capture. Location data is embedded in your photos and videos locally on your device.
🖼️ Photos and Videos
The App captures and saves photos and videos to your device's local storage. You control what is captured and saved.
💾 Device Storage / Media Access
To save and display your geotagged media, the App requires access to your device's storage or media library. This allows the App to read previously saved media and write new files.
📊 Device & App Usage Information
The App may collect anonymous usage information such as crash reports, performance data, or feature interaction events to help us improve stability and user experience. This data does not personally identify you.
📢 Advertising Identifiers & Ad-Related Data
If the App displays advertisements, advertising networks may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android), approximate location, device model, OS version, app usage data, and ad interaction information. This data is used to serve and measure ads.
3 How We Use Information
We use the information accessed by the App for the following purposes:
- Geotagging: To embed GPS coordinates, timestamps, and location metadata into your captured photos and videos.
- Display: To overlay location details, map tiles, compass headings, and geotag templates on your media.
- Map View: To display your saved geotagged media on an interactive map within the App.
- Local Storage: To save your captured media and associated metadata to your device.
- App Improvement: To diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and enhance features based on anonymised usage patterns.
- Advertising: To display ads within the App, measure ad performance, detect and prevent ad fraud, and fulfil obligations to advertising network partners in compliance with applicable laws and user consent.
4 Data Storage
Local Storage: All photos, videos, and embedded GPS/location metadata are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your media or location-tagged files to any server operated by us.
Sharing by You: If you choose to share or export your media using your device's native sharing features or third-party apps, you are responsible for where that content is sent. Shared media may contain embedded GPS metadata.
Third-Party Ad Providers: Advertising partners integrated into the App may process limited data — such as advertising identifiers, device information, and ad interactions — on their own servers in accordance with their own privacy policies.
5 Data Sharing
We respect your data. Here is what we do and do not share:
- We do not sell your photos, videos, or precise GPS/location media data to any third party.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, or location-tagged media to any server by default.
- Advertising partners may receive advertising identifiers, approximate location, device and OS information, and ad interaction data — where permitted by law and subject to your consent — to serve, target, and measure advertisements.
- We may disclose data if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
6 Third-Party Services

- Advertising Networks: To serve advertisements (e.g., Google AdMob or similar ad providers).
- Analytics & Crash Reporting: To monitor App stability and collect anonymised usage statistics (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics or equivalent services), if applicable.
7 Advertising
The App may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. Advertising helps support the free availability of the App.
- Ad Types: Ads may be contextual (based on app content) or personalised (based on your interests and behaviour), depending on your consent and the laws applicable in your region.
- Data Used by Ad Partners: Ad partners may use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID), device information, approximate location, and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App and provided personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
13 Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the App and the data it handles. Because your media and metadata are stored locally on your device, the security of that data depends significantly on your device's security settings (e.g., screen lock, device encryption).
No method of data storage or transmission is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We recommend keeping your device operating system and the App updated to benefit from the latest security improvements.
14 International Data Transfers
The App itself does not transfer your photos, videos, or GPS-tagged media to servers outside your device. However, third-party services integrated into the App — such as advertising networks, map service providers, and analytics platforms — may process limited data (such as advertising identifiers and device information) on servers located in countries outside your region, including the United States.
These transfers are conducted by third-party providers in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including through mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required under EU/UK law. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the third-party services listed in Section 6.
