Smart Photo Cleaner โ€” Gallery Cleanup & Photo Management

Last updated: July 25, 2026
01

Photo & Media Access

The App may request access to photos, videos, and media files stored on your device. This access is required to scan, analyze, group, display, protect, and delete selected media files based on your instructions.

On Android 14 and later, you may choose to grant the App limited (partial) access to only selected photos and videos instead of your full library. On iOS, the App may also request permission to add or update items in your photo library, which is used only to complete a cleanup you've confirmed.

02

Main Features

  • Detect duplicate and similar photos
  • Identify blurry and dark photos
  • Detect screenshots, burst photos, and large media files
  • Group photos using face and pose similarity
  • Show storage usage and cleanup suggestions
  • Allow you to protect selected photos from deletion
  • Allow you to exclude selected albums from scanning
  • Maintain local scan history and cleanup results
  • Support scan pause and resume
  • Allow you to review files before deletion
  • Move deleted items to a local trash or recovery section, where supported

03

Data Processing

Photo and video analysis is primarily performed locally on your device. Media files are not uploaded to an external server for photo analysis unless a future feature clearly informs you and obtains your consent.

The App may store the following locally on your device, using local storage or an SQLite database:

Scan results Media identifiers File paths Thumbnails Similarity data Protected-photo records Excluded-album settings App preferences

04

Permissions Used

  • Photos, videos, or media access (including limited/partial access on Android 14+)
  • Storage access on supported Android versions
  • Notification permission for scan completion or cleanup reminders
  • Background processing permission, where supported, used to run and resume long cleanup scans
  • Advertising ID (Android) โ€” used by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to serve ads
  • Internet access for advertisements, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, or app updates
Permissions are used only to provide the App's intended functionality. You may deny or revoke permissions through your device settings, but some features may stop working correctly.

05

Deletion of Photos and Videos

The App does not automatically delete photos or videos without your action. You can review and select media files before deletion. Depending on your operating system, you may also need to confirm deletion through a system confirmation dialog.

06

Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services:

ServicePurpose
Google AdMobDisplaying advertisements
Firebase AnalyticsUnderstanding app usage
Firebase CrashlyticsCrash and stability reporting
Firebase Remote ConfigRemotely managing app settings

These services may collect information such as device information, advertising identifiers, app interactions, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostics, and crash logs, according to their own privacy policies.

07

Data Sharing

The App does not sell your personal data or private photos, and does not include account sign-in or cloud-storage features. Limited technical data may be processed by advertising, analytics, and crash-reporting providers (see Third-Party Services above) to operate and improve the App.

08

EU / UK Users โ€” GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the following rights over any personal data processed in connection with the App (such as advertising or analytics identifiers):

  • Right of access โ€” request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification โ€” request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure โ€” request deletion of your data
  • Right to restrict processing โ€” request that we limit how your data is used
  • Right to data portability โ€” request your data in a portable format
  • Right to object โ€” object to processing, including for advertising purposes
  • Right to lodge a complaint โ€” with your local data protection supervisory authority

Legal basis: we rely on your consent (for advertising and optional features), our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App (for crash reporting and analytics), and legal obligation where applicable.

International transfers: our third-party providers โ€” Google AdMob and Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) โ€” may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, under their own applicable safeguards (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).

The App does not require an account and does not collect your name, email, or contact details directly, so most GDPR requests will relate to advertising/analytics identifiers rather than a personal profile.

09

California Users โ€” CCPA / CPRA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the following rights:

  • Right to know โ€” what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed
  • Right to delete โ€” request deletion of personal information we hold
  • Right to correct โ€” request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out โ€” of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising via AdMob)
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (not applicable โ€” the App does not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA)
  • Right to non-discrimination โ€” for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing advertising identifiers with AdMob for personalized ads may be considered a "share" under the CPRA's broad definition; you can opt out below.

To opt out of personalized ads / the "sale or sharing" of your information, use your device's ad settings (e.g., "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in Android/iOS system settings) or email us using the Contact section below with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." You, or an authorized agent acting on your behalf, may submit a verifiable consumer request at any time.

The App has not knowingly sold or shared the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

10

Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically designed for children under the minimum legal age required in the user's country. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.

11

Data Retention and Removal

Local scan data, preferences, cached thumbnails, protected-photo records, and history may remain on your device until you clear the App's data, delete the records, or uninstall the App.

You can remove locally stored app data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the application. Data handled by third-party services is retained according to those providers' policies.

12

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
